Creative Spirit of God Within You

O How He loves you and me! ~~ II Corinthians 4:6-7

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. II Corinthians 4:6-7

Earthen Vessels
"You're the One I Love, says God"
It was a normal day in 1999 when I was in my apartment telling God, my Abba, about all my failures. I was going down my list, repenting, grieving. Suddenly I saw a vision of an earthen vessel, a cracked clay pot. Out of the cracks was the light of Jesus shinning forth. I stopped my list and listened. My Father gave me II Corinthians 4:6-7, and then said, "but you have this Treasure (Jesus) in your earthen vessel that His light would shine through you."

I put away my list and over the next month I drew that vision, painted it, created it in pastels. My five children finally said, "Mom, when are you going to stop drawing this and do something new???" The walls of every room had these pictures on it.

A month later, though I had repented for my list, I was again reviewing it. Again, the Lord, my Abba, showed me a vision. This time the cracks in the clay pot were much bigger, and the dunamis (power) of God was bursting forth from the vessel. The Lord said, “The larger thecracks, the more My glory can be revealed.” I put away my list for good, knowing that in my weakness His power would be perfected.

I continued to paint it, draw it....Then a month later, though I was finished with my list or good, the Lord came to me and showed me another vision: the same earthen vessel, cracked pot, but this time rivers of living water were gushing out from within this vessel.

He said, "And out of your belly will flow rivers of living water!"

We are His treasured possession, His blessed earthen vessels, cracks and all. We are broken, weak, living, breathing, children of the Most High, in whom He takes great delight. And in His great love for us He fills us to overflowing with His love, His glory, His joy. He washes away the sin, the hurt, the death, and gives us beauty through His Beloved Son.

He formed us, knew us, loved us, called us by name, in the secret place of His heart before the foundation of the world. Jesus, Son of God, Beloved Saviour, said the Father loved us with the same love He had for His Son before the foundation of the world.

And in that place of
our weakness and
His power, we are
             John 7:38
lavished by that love.
No one can earn it,
no one can change it,
no one can take it
from you.

Oh, how he loves us!

  1. Dear Lisa,
I arrived here this morning seeking solace and comfort thru consecrated art. Soaking in His almighty presence, Abba, Father led me to you!
To be honest, I saw some artwork on a video and thought I was looking that up- much to my surprise the web page opened up to reveal your 'Holy' painting- a delightful and familiar work you recently posted on FB. I'm in awe of God's goodness as He brought me to a treasured new friend and sister in Christ to minister to me today through a 'cracked pot'. I'm truly blessed and thankful. I feel better now and will let the light continue to shine through my ever widening cracks.
    In Him,
    Greta

  2. Dear Greta,

How glorious! God, our Everlasting Father, is so faithful to our hearts and so kind to us in our weakness. I am so blessed that the Lord chose an earthen vessel to minister to you. He is Holy!
His thoughts are not our thoughts, His ways are not our ways...
His thoughts toward us outnumber the sand! Psalm 139
May the One who loves you meet you today in all His glory, for He is good and He is Holy!
    Your friend,
    Lisa
